Alan and Maria bought a café in the Hamilton Field Hangars and had been running it for a year when I met them. They had someone came in and do the chalkboard menu that runs the span of the restaurant, but their menu expanded to 10x what was on the chalk menu and they needed it redone. They needed to include a huge number of items while keeping them legible and neatly organized. I designed a fun and colorful menu that took up the whole space available. The design took 14 hours and two days to implement but it makes a huge impact on the space.
"They had an existing logo and color scheme that was incorporated into all of their signs and menus so I wanted to mimic the branding when designing their website."
After that, they wanted a website so they could display their hours, phone number, menu and ideally to allow customers to order online as well. They had an existing logo and color scheme that was incorporated into all of their signs and menus so I wanted to mimic the branding when designing their website. I kept the website very simple and easy to navigate and preserved the black and mint green color scheme so that it was easily recognizable (especially since there is a restaurant with the same name on the East Coast). I also organized a photoshoot for them and photographed their entire menu. I then set up an online ordering system including the photos, which is set to launch early 2018. The website has allowed the café to grow further and brings in many more orders each day.
