I Scream You Scream
I Scream You Scream

By using bright fun colors, whimsical imagery and a pun for a title, this print is a humorous take on the Titanic crash and subsequent sinking. Instead of an iceberg, however, this ship has struck into an ice cream cone, mimicking a wafer. The print aims to poke fun at the idealization of this event as well as the morbid attraction people have to it. They revel in new information as if it were good enough to eat.

Tea of Life
Tea of Life

With this print I wanted to explore an object that could be viewed two ways. The steam coming off the cup of tea becomes the trunk of a tea tree. This references the supposed beginning of tea when the Emperor of China was drinking a cup of hot water when the leaves from a nearby tree fell into it. Here, there is a duality of interpretation.

31 Days Away
31 Days Away

At any point in October, I can expect an influx of mail. Although my birthday is not until the middle of the month, for the 10 days before and the 20 days after I will receive cards and presents at random times; this is due to the distance between my family members and the terminally slow international mail system. The imagery presented is indicative of the distance they’ll go for me.
