As part of the local music scene, you meet a lot of musicians in need of branding. This band from Sacramento is one of my absolute favorites. Their name came from the name of their parent’s house, The Villa Maria, which used to be a church and then a brothel and then a church before becoming their home. I wanted to design a logo that vaguely referenced the universal cross, without being too specific or religious. In the two years that I’ve known them, they have grown so much as a band and I wanted their logo to encapsulate the feeling that they spent so long cultivating.
Before they released their first album, House of Mary wanted a website. I designed their website to feature their brand new album, past shows, and their contact information for booking gigs, while maintaining the indie rock vibe. I also designed a stand alone EPK (Electronic Press Kit) to be used as their digital business card while trying to get booked for shows. House of Mary has been growing and growing since we first started working together. They just completed their first Southwest tour and are writing new songs for their second album.
